Apple Quicktime Download Notes The Quicktime plug-in is available to download at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ Scroll down the page to the form where it says 'download the free player'. To download the free player you must give details of who you are. Enter your email address, first name and last name. Select whether you wish to receive Apple or Quicktime news. Select the operating system of your computer. This will either be a Macintosh or a PC running windows 95/98/NT/2000. If you are unsure of what to enter, ask the person who bought your computer from or look on the screen when you first start up your computer. Then select the language you require. Press the download button and the Quicktime file will begin to download onto your computer. Make a note of where the ('the folder name') program is being downloaded as you will need to find the program afterwards to run the set up procedure. A file called QuickTimeInstaller.exe will be downloaded onto your computer. Usually it will be downloaded to your desktop. You will see a download window on your screen while the file is downloading. When the download is complete, find the program file, QuickTimeInstaller.exe, (which will either be on your desktop or the folder where it was downloaded). Double click on the file or icon QuickTimeInstaller.exe. This will run the setup program on your computer. If you are prompted to read any licence agreements, read them: if you are happy, select 'yes' to accept the conditions. During this process, it may prompt you to select the path of where your browser program files are located on your computer. The setup process will install the Quicktime plug-in into your browser. You must wait until the setup program has finished. If you already have a browser window open, you must close this and restart your Internet browser. Open the browser and go back to ELT Forum . You should now be able to see the video automatically. The Quicktime program has now been integrated into your browser software.
