A
moment's reflection, however, reminds us that there are
as many different models of good teacher behaviour as there
are people with different personalities.
Perhaps, then, being a teacher is more about the relationship
between a teacher and his or her students. If this is true,
then the establishment of rapport is perhaps the greatest
task a teacher is called upon to perform.
If we find it difficult to say what makes a good teacher,
then perhaps it would be easier to say what makes a bad
teacher. At least we could try and avoid the qualities that
this question produces!
Let's start by looking at the 'it' factor in The
performance teacher: does he or she have 'it'? This
is then followed by a brief overview of what
teachers believe in.
